Zoe's Two Emergency Caesareans and her VBAC

Zoe's Caesareans

My first daughter was born by emergancy section at 38 weeks because of fetal distress. I managed to crown but then her heart beat dropped dangerously, so I was rushed to theatre. I had trouble bonding and had a horrible time in hospital. I was only 18 but deserved a bit of dignity. The day after Lauren was born I was literally frog marched to the bath with no sanitary pad, and the bathroom was the other end of the ward!!!

When I was pregnant with Macey she was breech and I had been diagnosed with a large fibroid so when my waters broke at 34 weeks with a breech baby there was no time to plan my ideal birth. Luckily she was fine and came home with me at three days old.

Zoe's VBAC

My 3rd baby Abigail, my little miricle baby. I was told I may not concieve because of fibroids but 3 weeks after we started trying I found out I was preganant. I then had constant bleeding from 4 to 15 weeks and on 2 occassions was told by a on call gp that I was to go home as I was probably losing my baby and to go to A and E when I started to lose clots!!!

At the end of my 35th week I went in to labour. It was 2 hours start to finish and then my beautiful baby girl was born. Although we had to stay in hospital longer than with the c sections due to previous swab results coming back the day after she was born showing I had tested positive for group b strep, my baby was healthy and I had shown myself and the rest of the world that I was not the faliure I had been led to believe I was by the hospital!

Zoe's Thoughts on having a VBAC

Pushing my baby into the world was such a wonderfull experiance, even spiritual in a way. It was the best thing I have ever done. Next time I am hoping my group b strep comes back negative and I can have my water home birth!
